Congratulations to Joshua Swartz

JPH Advisory Group celebrated Joshua passing the CFP® exam at the Braves game. Braves won 3-2!

We are excited to announce that our very own Joshua Swartz has successfully passed the rigorous CFP® certification exam! Joshua has been with JPH Advisory Group since June 2011, serving as support for Jon and Curtis with day to day financial planning and back office maintenance, but will increasingly aid in a larger role directly serving clients.

Joshua earned a bachelor’s degree in finance from Liberty University in 2011, while simultaneously completing the CFP® education requirements. With the successful completion of the CFP® exam, Joshua will be able to bear the CFP® marks June 2014, upon satisfying the final requirement of three years of relevant work experience.

What exactly is the CFP® and why does it matter?

Many people don’t realize that anyone can call themselves a “financial planner” but only those who fulfill all the requirements of the CFP Board are certified. The rigorous requirements can help consumers differentiate between the competency of financial advisors. To earn the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ designation, candidates must complete what the Board of Standards refers to as the “4 E’s”:

  • Education
  • Examination
  • Experience
  • Ethics

In addition to earning a bachelor’s degree, completing a comprehensive board certified education program, passing the 10-hour exam, and adhering to a strict code of ethics, candidates must also have completed three years of relevant work experience in the financial planning industry and pass a background check.

Please join us in congratulating Joshua on this outstanding achievement. Also, check out Liberty University’s recent write-up about Joshua!
